How WhatsApp message pricing works
- Per delivered message: each message is charged once, when it’s delivered, by its category and the recipient’s country.
- Four categories: marketing, utility, authentication and service. Promotional content always makes a message marketing.
- Free messages: messages customers send you, and the first 1,000 service replies per number each month.
- Taxes: 18% GST applies for businesses billed in India.
Our rates include Meta’s own fee. For how Meta prices messages, see our guide to WhatsApp Business API pricing in India and Meta’s pricing page. For plan prices, see pricing.
